vera birth announcements

i'm guessing most of vera's birth announcements ended up in a drawer, a phto album, on the fridge, or maybe even in the trash (sniffle)... but my cousin let me know that vera's pic is hanging on his "clipboard of miscellaneous sentimental things that hangs above the tool bench in the basement, which is also full of sentimental things, most of which don't fit on a clipboard". loved this picture he sent :)

went to moms group today, and vera made a new friend carlos. they took turns waving their hands at each other. there was lots of cooing and gurgling, i'm pretty sure they were flirting ;)

day at the pool

we went to cousin caroline's 2nd birthday party at the pool today. we hung out with aunt eryn and uncle bryan. and spent some time in just a diaper and a sun hat.

yay! vera drank from a bottle - that means jp and i can go out for dinner on saturday for our first wedding anniversary and leave vera home with grandma.

baby genius or dumb jock?

guess who is a little overachiever and rolled over!? that would be 4 week old vera. she rolled over from back to tummy yesterday morning. i didn't capture a video of it... just got a picture right at the end. she did it again today too, but again i'm too slow with the video camera. i need to just have a constant video camera on this girl!

keep in mind, she still doesnt even have total neck control. so she does this all with her legs and tummy to move herself!

vera visited cousin tess (and aunt, uncle, cousins henry and jack, nana, grandpa, and great grandma). we got some nice pictures of the girls.

on monday, vera and mom surprised dad with a visit to his track day. we're thinking pink dresses and motorcycles don't really mix ;)

yesterday, vera had quite a day. first we went to ann taylor, where mom bought a few new shirts. (no pictures there, oops). then we went to the motorcycle store and dad bought a few new motorcycles (kidding!), he bought some oil. vera test drove a few bikes there.

then we had lunch at jakes hamburgers. yum!

this is how we spend many hours of the day. i'm on the sofa snuggled up with baby and pug. got the laptop, cellphone, boppy pillow, spit up towel, tv and stereo remotes. and you cant see her, but nellie is always at my feet as well. vera changes position quite a bit to lay on her side, on her tummy, and curl up in my arms. the pug and i don't move.

birth center picture

the birth center takes pictures of all the babies and parents there. usually the picture is taken shortly after baby is born. since we ended up transferring to the hospital, that didn't happen for us. but they took this picture at our 1 week checkup. i guess one good thing is that us parents look better after one week than we did right after the 30 hour labor :)

new moms group

went to a new moms group at the birth center yesterday. vera was pretty fussy the whole time we were there until about 5 minutes before the group was over. then she fell asleep like a little angel on top of me. and i didn't want to get up to leave at that point... wish i had a better camera than my phone with me.

grandpa was in china and france for the first two and a half weeks of vera's life - but he finally got to meet her this weekend. vera also enjoyed dancing with dad - one of her new favorite activities.
