road trip to the beach

went on a road trip today to rehoboth beach. picked up a surf board from the repair shop, had lunch at greenman, and walked on the boardwalk for about 2 minutes to show vera the ocean.

technically this is vera's third or fourth bath, and not her first. but we didn't get pictures of the first (or second) bath. worked out well, since she actually didn't scream for the entire bath this time.

one week pictures

at one week, we took vera outside for some pictures. she wasn't too excited about the picture taking - and cried for alot of them. but we did get a few good ones. and i really mean 'few'. hopefully two week pictures go better!

fathers day

vera arrived just in time to celebrate fathers day with john paul. he got a new tshirt like this:

welcome vera

vera arrived a few days past her due date (june 11th) on june 16, 2010 at 10:04 am, and after a ridiculously long labor effort on my part. She was 8 lbs, 2 oz and 21 inches long. here's mom and baby shortly after birth. and here's dad changing the first poopy diaper, less than an hour after vera entered the world.

and here's the happy family together. yes that is blood on dad's shirt - he got splattered cutting the umbilical cord. he wanted to make sure he also looked like he was involved in a crime scene.
